Return only the "hardware": Hungary will give "Oschadbank" empty cars, leaving 75 million dollars and gold in Budapest
Hungary will return the seized "Oschadbank" cash-in-transit vehicles to Ukraine, but empty. Budapest has named the condition for returning the stolen funds.
The head of the Prime Minister of Hungary’s office, Gergely Gulyás, stated this, as reported by Telex.
Hungary’s National Tax and Customs Administration (NAV) reported that it will return the two Ukrainian cash-in-transit vehicles seized last week, but empty.
At the same time, Gulyás stated that "in this specific case, there is no suspicion, but the investigation is being conducted in accordance with anti-money laundering rules."
"One thing can be said as a fact: the shipment contained an unprecedented amount of foreign currency and a lot of gold," added the Hungarian government representative.
According to him, "if there is no justified suspicion, the money must be returned to Ukraine."
