From coal debts to the plundering of TPP: how Oleksiy Beskupskyi and his ‘front men’ have been plundering the energy sector for years

The scheme with dummy firms that “repaired TPPs” (or were supposed to), as it turned out, is not new. Our suspects have already tested this very model on coal procurement for Centrenergo

... and moved on to embezzling in the energy sector.

A few years ago, intermediary firms received hundreds of millions of hryvnias in advances from the state company for coal, but supplied only a part. They did not return the rest of the money - forcing Centrenergo to sue suppliers for hundreds of millions.

For example, LLC Teplosfera UA received 132 million UAH, but delivered only 1.5 thousand tons out of 33.5 thousand tons. The court ordered the company to pay 127 million UAH.

The related Energo Resource Group must return another 240 million UAH.

And the coal company «Optenergotorg» owes Centrenergo 77 million UAH due to underdelivery of coal.

Well, and the director of Optenergotorg (who would have thought) in December 2025 becomes Oleksiy Beskupskyi - a suspect in MEZhA’s investigation into the TPP repair embezzlement.
