Zelenskyy insists on a personal meeting with Trump: “Some issues are standing still”

The teams of Ukraine and the USA are conducting active consultations regarding sanctions policy and security guarantees. However, a personal meeting between the two presidents is necessary to resolve key issues.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated this during a conversation with journalists.

Currently, the dialogue continues at the level of negotiation groups. From the American side, the main contacts are Trump’s special representative Steve Witkoff and the US President’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. According to Zelenskyy, the teams are discussing a wide range of issues, including sanctions pressure.

Zelenskyy noted that he did not discuss with Trump the issue of sanctions against Russia and easing American restrictions. At the same time, he noted that there is already a specific need for direct contact with the US leader.

"I think we have many issues: with negotiations, with drones, and with the Middle East. I think we need to meet with the president already. Because the teams are working, but we have some issues that are standing still. Our teams need to work more on our meeting," - the president summed up.
