Fiasco at the border: driver tried to "outsmart" customs and lost a semi-trailer worth 700 thousand

Wanted to save money, but lost 700,000 UAH: fiasco at the border in Uzhhorod.

A truck driver from Volyn decided to «outsmart» the system, but something went wrong. When importing the KRAKER CF-Z dump semi-trailer, he indicated a lowered price in the documents — 400 thousand UAH.

 Customs officers grew suspicious and queried their Slovak colleagues. Result: the real value of the semi-trailer is 300 thousand higher than the driver declared.

The man admitted that the documents were «fake» to save on customs duties.
A protocol was drawn up under Part 1 of Article 483 of the Customs Code of Ukraine.

The semi-trailer worth 700,000 UAH has been seized pending court decision.

Now, instead of savings, the driver faces full confiscation and a huge fine.
