Vice Prime Minister Kachka reported that Germany and a number of EU countries are warning Ukraine: accession to the European Union is possible not earlier than in 10–20 years.

Besides Germany, he named Hungary, Italy, and Poland.

«Countries like Germany state: since this is an extremely important issue for us, we need trust. You will complete the reforms, and we will need about 20 years for you to «settle» and for us to be convinced that everything functions properly. This does not mean that we are against your admission — we just need time to build trust. We respond: the geopolitical situation, Russia’s aggression, the war, and the need for European integration do not leave us these 20 years. Perhaps I am exaggerating with 20 years, even 10 years — but for us, this is an eternity», — noted Kachka.
