"He has what I need": Zelenskyy stated readiness for dialogue with Netanyahu amid the Iranian threat
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy stated that Iran supplied "Shahed" drones to Russia, and Moscow, in response, helped Tehran improve and adapt these technologies.
About this reports The Jerusalem Post.
According to the guarantor, Ukraine warned in advance about the threat of using these drones against the civilian population.
Zelenskyy noted that Kyiv from the very beginning tried to stop the transfer of drones by directly appealing to the Iranian side. However, Tehran officials denied involvement and, according to the president, downplayed the scale of cooperation.
"They said: ’Okay… we are not allies here. We sold the Russians some "Shaheds", and there will be 1200 or 1300, and that’s all’."
"But it was not true. Of course, they lied", — Zelenskyy stated.
The President emphasized that Russia has established its own production of drones, including cheaper analogs.
Answering a question about the possible transfer of technologies to Iran, he said: "Yes, I am sure".
According to Zelenskyy, Ukraine is already helping other countries counter similar threats. In particular, three groups of military experts have been sent to assess air defense systems.
"Now three groups are already there. Now it’s up to the countries to decide how to use our experience", - said Zelenskyy.
"They approached us for expert assistance on air defence issues. Air defence, not attack", — noted the head of state.
Zelenskyy linked the spread of drones to insufficient pressure on Russia: "It’s a pity. We do not see in the world a force that can really stop Putin".
He added that Moscow and Tehran jointly created this threat.
The President also commented on the possibility of contact with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: "He has what I need, and I have what he needs. Therefore, I am ready for this dialogue".
