«We don’t need Zelenskyy»: Trump sharply rejected Ukraine’s offer to help intercept Iranian drones
The White House emphasizes that it does not need Zelenskyy’s help in intercepting Iranian drones.
A White House representative, whom the New York Post asked yesterday to comment on Zelenskyy’s statements about support from Ukraine, referred to Trump’s words said on Friday: «We don’t need [Ukraine’s help] in defending against drones».
The US representative noted that Iranian ballistic missile attacks have decreased by 90%, and drone strikes — by 95%».
Nevertheless, Zelenskyy assures in an interview with Post that the US needs Ukraine’s experience in countering drones and that Ukraine has already provided assistance to the United States.
«You have experience from past wars, but you haven’t faced a similar conflict. It would be useful to come here and undergo training. We reacted instantly. When there’s a chance to help protect civilians or US citizens, we immediately send our teams», — stated the president.
The publication states that Ukraine has sent groups of military specialists to the Middle East to analyze and counter Iranian drone attacks.
«We are currently leading the world in these technologies (UAVs). No one else is conducting missile strikes anymore, everyone is using hundreds and thousands of drones. Missiles will run out. We could create the world’s largest drone production plant. The United States will provide production and funding. Ukraine will provide technologies and expertise. This can be used to protect American servicemen at bases. We understand what it means to be under such massive attacks», — emphasized the president.
