From prosecutors to the TRC: how former law officer Zadyriyenko ‘escaped’ the crypto scandal at the Ministry of Defence

Former prosecutor of the Kremenchuk District Prosecutor’s Office of the Poltava Region, Dmytro Zadyriyenko, who found himself at the center of a cryptocurrency scandal, has received a convenient position as an officer in the administrative department of the Ministry of Defense (likely referring to the TRC).

Zadyriyenko was involved in a disciplinary proceeding of the QDCP.  He was accused of violating anti-corruption legislation, specifically point 7 of part 1 of article 46 of the Law «On Prevention of Corruption» — failure to declare in the 2023 declaration his wife Alina’s income from cryptocurrency trading on the Binance exchange (P2P operations).

The case was closed due to the statute of limitations expiring; however, Zadyriyenko resigned. Shortly after that, he started working at the Ministry of Defence. 

The declarant’s family: wife Alina and daughter Eva. Among family incomes — 1.25 million UAH from the sale of movable property, received by the wife.

Real estate includes a residential house (right of residence for the family and one more person — Zoya Zadyriyenko), two land plots in the village of Pohreby of the Horodyske community (13 thousand m² and 20.4 thousand m², acquired in 2018), a plot of 1000 m² in Kremenchuk (2024, right of use), as well as a garage of 18 m² in the «Horizont» cooperative (2020).

Registered to the wife: Toyota Camry Hybrid (2021), purchased in 2024 for 1.1 million UAH.

Cash assets: insignificant amounts in accounts at «Universal Bank» and «PrivatBank», joint cash — 30 thousand dollars.

The most striking part of the declaration — crypto assets. Declared tens of thousands of hryvnia in various coins: Tether (USDT) ≈ 448 535 UAH, Bitcoin ≈ 10 345 UAH, Ethereum, Dogecoin, NEAR, Solana, BNB, XLM, pGALA, ONE, Dot, and others. Some belong to Dmytro, others — to the wife and daughter. Used Binance, WhiteBIT, Ledger Nano X.
