Kharkiv investigator Karpova bought an Audi Q5 for 1.2 million hryvnias during the war despite having income less than the cost of the car

The head of the investigative department of the special police department of the Kharkiv region, Oksana Karpova, purchased an expensive car during the war.

Oksana Karpova lives in Kharkiv and continues to hold the position of head of the investigative department. In July 2025, she purchased an Audi Q5 2019 model year for 1.2 million hryvnias.

However, in 2025, her main income was only 985 thousand UAH, and she additionally received 1,000 UAH in social benefits. The cost of the car significantly exceeds the woman’s income.

For 2024, she declared 35 thousand dollars in cash, but for the previous year she indicated that she had only 12 thousand dollars. That is, she wouldn’t have had enough of her own funds to purchase the car.

And in general, it’s unclear how Ms. Karpova, with her income for 2021–2023, could accumulate 35 thousand dollars. This will be interesting to NAPC.

The woman has been living in the apartment of Serhiy Yarovyi (50 sq. m) since 2016. The value of the property is not indicated. The rent cost is also not. Previously, Karpova’s surname was Yarova.
