Scheme of embezzling over 5 million hryvnias on medical equipment for operating rooms in three regions exposed

5.6 million UAH on medical equipment: embezzlement scheme exposed in operating room procurements.

Law enforcement officers exposed a scheme of misappropriating budget funds during the procurement of equipment for hospitals in several regions of Ukraine. Officials of medical institutions in Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Sumy regions were involved, along with representatives of the importer company. The scheme operated through controlled IEs: equipment was first sold at market price, and during tenders, the cost was artificially inflated. Hospitals bought at a higher price, and the difference was withdrawn through intermediaries.

Three episodes documented in 2024. Preliminary damages — over 5.6 million UAH. Four suspects have been notified of suspicion. During searches, evidence was seized; the investigation continues.
