“Golden Flight” to Vienna: Boryslav Bereza stated about the cash export scheme by “Oschadbank” cash collectors
In Ukraine, former people’s deputy Boryslav Bereza published a statement on Facebook about possible large-scale abuses using armored cash-in-transit vehicles of the state-owned «Oschadbank» for smuggling cash and gold abroad.
About this reported journalist Olena Kurbanova.
According to Bereza, the organization of logistics allegedly involves the former head of the President’s Office Andriy Yermak, as well as former security officials and top managers of the National Bank. The politician refers to his own sources in the banking sector and describes a scenario in which armored cash-in-transit vehicles go on a business trip to Vienna (Austria), where they formally purchase currency and gold at the local branch of Raiffeisen Bank — allegedly in amounts up to tens of millions of euros/dollars and several kilograms of gold.
Further, as Bereza claims, instead of returning directly to Kyiv, the cash-in-transit vehicles allegedly detour to Serbia, where they leave the purchased assets in local bank branches. When crossing borders with documents, the vehicles allegedly pass checks without actual inspection of the cash, after which in Ukraine the empty armored vehicles are refilled with «shadow» currency and gold that enters the bank’s cash registers for official reporting.
Bereza points out that «Oschadbank» allegedly differs from other Ukrainian banks (PrivatBank, Raiffeisen Bank, PUMB) in that it sends cash-in-transit teams directly to Austria, while other banks receive currency at the Hungarian-Ukrainian border. According to his data, during the full-scale invasion, there have been more than 15 such trips to Vienna.
The politician also names the alleged «supervisor» of the transports — a retired general — and refers to presidential decrees which, in his opinion, directly indicate the involvement of Andriy Yermak and former general Hennadiy Kuznyetsov. Separately, Bereza draws attention to the active media reaction of NBU Governor Andriy Pyshnyi after the information was made public.
The post emphasizes that the published data is insider information that requires verification by specialized law enforcement agencies (NABU or SSU), and if confirmed, it could serve as a basis for returning significant funds to the state budget.
