"Built 10 factories without the authorities’ knowledge": Zelenskyy stated about the secret sale of Ukrainian interceptor drones abroad

Zelenskyy reported that Ukrainian drone developer firms secretly sold them abroad without the state’s knowledge.

This is reported by «Interfax-Ukraine» citing the president.

According to the head of state, Ukrainian businessmen created about a dozen factories for the production of  interceptor drones in various parts of the world without notifying the authorities.

«I know approximately about ten such factories, to be honest. They were built behind the state’s back in various corners of the world, so that, God forbid, nothing is missed. But I’m sure they will all lose», – noted Zelenskyy.

Moreover, interceptor drones from these companies were sometimes sold to third countries.

The president cited a case when one firm supplied another country with a thousand such devices for 3.5 million dollars.

«Dollars, to make it clear to which country and where these interceptors went. This is not a problem. We could have just handed them over to this partner for free», – emphasized Zelenskyy.

He clarified that the buyer later approached Ukraine due to the lack of ammunition in the received drones.

A similar story happened after the president’s visit to one of the European countries: it also received a batch of interceptors without explosives and asked to send operators. Ukraine refused.

«Recently, I visited another European country on an official visit. They were also sold a batch of interceptors, again without explosives. And they ask: can you send operators? I reply – no», – stated Zelenskyy.

In addition, Zelenskyy mentioned that the company that sold the drones for 3.5 million dollars simultaneously signed a contract with the state for 300 million euros, calling it «very unserious».
