Ukraine awaits arrival of Kushner and Witkoff: MFA confirms invitation for Trump team

The invitation to US President Donald Trump’s special representatives to Kyiv remains in force; currently, the Ukrainian and American teams are working on strengthening the document on security guarantees.

This was reported by the spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine, Heorhiy Tykhyi, at a briefing on Wednesday, April 8.

«Regarding the American guests, we are indeed inviting them, this is in force, and we will be glad to welcome them when there is such readiness», — Tykhyi stated.

Commenting on the work on the security guarantees document, he noted that «certain new opportunities have opened up to make this document stronger, in particular, in view of the developments in the Middle East and the role that Ukraine has demonstrated there».

According to the MFA spokesperson, the work on this document is being led by the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Kyrylo Budanov, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi, Chief of the General Staff Andriy Hnatov, and Deputy Head of the OP Serhiy Kyslytsya.

Earlier, the Head of the Office of the President Kyrylo Budanov said in an interview with Bloomberg that in April Ukraine expects the arrival of an American delegation led by US President Donald Trump’s special envoy Steve Witkoff and Trump’s son-in-law Jared Kushner. According to Budanov, the visit may take place shortly after Orthodox Easter (this year it is celebrated on April 12).
