Iran refused ceasefire: Ghalibaf accused the US of violating conditions even before the start of negotiations
A ceasefire is inappropriate because the US violated three out of the ten points of the proposal before the start of negotiations.
The speaker of the Iranian parliament, Mohammad-Bagher Ghalibaf, reported this.
The text of his statement:
«Deep historical distrust of the United States that we feel is rooted in their numerous violations of all kinds of commitments, and, unfortunately, these violations are repeating again.
As clearly stated by the US President in his social network «Truth», the Islamic Republic of Iran’s 10-point proposal is a «working basis for negotiations» and a key base for them. Nevertheless, three points of this proposal have already been violated:
1. Ignoring the first out of ten points dedicated to the ceasefire in Lebanon — a commitment clearly indicated by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, announcing a «immediate ceasefire everywhere, including Lebanon and other regions, effective immediately»;
2. Intruding drone violator into Iran’s airspace, shot down in the city of Lar in Fars province, which directly contradicts the point prohibiting any further intrusions into Iranian airspace;
3. Denial of Iran’s right to uranium enrichment provided for in the sixth point of the framework agreement. Thus, the very «working basis for negotiations» was grossly violated even before their start. Under such conditions, a bilateral ceasefire or negotiations make no sense».
