Russians are scaling up the use of jet-powered kamikaze drones, which complicates the work of Ukrainian air defence.

This was stated by Serhiy Bratchuk, spokesperson for the Ukrainian Volunteer Army.

"We are observing this in those locations where, in particular, my unit operates, and interceptor drones are working there; their job is becoming more complicated accordingly. Therefore, we are addressing this and working in this direction—we are improving the training of our pilots and, of course, waiting from the manufacturers for, perhaps, even a certain leap forward so that our work with interceptor drones can improve," he noted.

As an example, Bratchuk cited the Odesa region, where active use of precisely jet-powered drones is being recorded.

"Right now, the enemy has begun using jet-powered drones very actively. Of course, this complicates the work, but on the other hand, we are talking about the fact that, indeed, every component of the Defence Forces today—mobile fire groups, interceptor drone crews, other elements—is performing its function in its place, which ensures, I believe, the best downing rate of air targets that can exist in the world today," he reported.

The military expert noted that despite additional challenges, the Defence Forces are demonstrating an increase in the effectiveness of destroying enemy drones. Statistics show positive dynamics both at the level of individual units and overall.

"But jet-powered ones specifically today are extremely dangerous because this is a change in tactical and technical characteristics," Bratchuk added.
