Zelenskyy noted that Vance does not understand the situation in Ukraine.

He stated this while commenting on the US Vice President’s statement that the negotiations boil down to «bargaining for a few square kilometers of territory».

«Vice President, with due respect, did not participate in the negotiations. In my opinion, if he had participated in them, he would better understand what is a small patch of land and what is genuine Ukrainian territory — important and priority for security. There are powerful defensive lines, about 200 thousand people live there. Occupation of the east — this is creating a bridgehead for future offensives. «Before doing anything, it is necessary to know all the details and have reliable security guarantees. For now, Ukraine does not have such guarantees to proceed to other steps», — said the President of Ukraine.
