Drones instead of missiles: Ukraine and Norway are creating "small air defence" to combat Russian UAVs

Ukraine and Norway have agreed on the main directions of defence cooperation, emphasizing the strengthening of air defence and regular drone supplies to the front.

Ukraine’s Minister of Defence Mykhailo Fedorov reported this after a meeting with his Norwegian counterpart Tore Sandvik.

Main directions of cooperation and air defence

According to the minister, during the negotiations the parties outlined key areas of activity - improvement of air defence systems, expansion of defence innovations, and support for the "Czech initiative" to purchase ammunition.

Special attention was paid to the creation of "small air defence" using interceptor drones.

Fedorov noted that March turned out to be the most productive month in the "Army of Drones.Bonus" program, thanks to which the efficiency of target destruction increased and pressure on the RF economy intensified.

Drone supplies to brigades

Norway will fund an initiative to provide Ukrainian units with basic unmanned aerial vehicles. This will ensure the army with stable monthly supplies of minimally necessary equipment .

"This is a systemic solution that will provide the military with a guaranteed minimum of drones every month and directly affect effectiveness on the front," emphasized Mykhailo Fedorov.

The minister invited his Norwegian counterpart to visit Ukraine to visually demonstrate the operation of the army’s technological elements in real combat conditions.
