Hidden weapons and Kevlar briefcases: how the security of Ukrainian billionaire Rinat Akhmetov was ensured in Romania

Rinat Akhmetov, president of «Shakhtar», recently arrived at the farewell ceremony for Mircea Lucescu under enhanced security. The Romanian publication Cancanro drew attention to the unusual accessories of the Ukrainian billionaire’s bodyguards.

The head of Donetsk’s «Shakhtar» traveled in an armored Mercedes, and among his security team were also Romanian specialists. Bodyguards were spotted holding an umbrella and a business briefcase, which turned out to be modern portable ballistic shields capable of stopping a bullet.

«According to our sources in the security field, such a bulletproof umbrella costs about 20 thousand dollars, and the ballistic briefcase will cost approximately 15 thousand euros», – the publication reports.

In addition, some members of the security service carried concealed firearms in special bags. Their positioning around the oligarch clearly demonstrated a high level of training.
