Owner of drone manufacturer Fire Point, Denys Shtilerman, continues futilely scrubbing the internet of traces of corruption schemes worth billions of hryvnias
A cleanup of information about the company Fire Point and its owner Denys Shtilerman has begun online — publications are disappearing where there was talk about the company’s sharp growth, government orders, and possible corruption ties.
On this background, the statements of military man Yuriy Kasyanov caused a resonance, as he directly criticized the situation around the company: «Until 2023, it was a film industry outfit with 18 people working, mostly not engineers. And already in 2024, it “conquered the market” and received 30% of all government drone orders», — he stated.
Kasyanov also drew attention to the government’s priorities: «The army needs drones now. Not “flamingos”, not factories in Denmark that will start operating someday. Units right now do not have basic combat drones».
According to him, in parallel, Fire Point itself is receiving huge resources, including funding from Denmark — hundreds of millions of dollars and over a billion euros, which guarantees the company colossal profits even at the official margin.
Essentially, it’s about a situation where an obscure entity enters the top of the defense market in a year, receives a third of government orders and billion-dollar contracts — and now any critical information about it is starting to disappear. In the end, we have two parallel realities: on the front — a shortage of simple drones, and in the rear — billion-dollar projects, loud statements, and a cleanup of everything that questions these processes.
