Trump announced the introduction of a naval blockade of the Strait of Hormuz, which was previously mentioned in the media.

"From now on, the US Navy will begin blocking all vessels attempting to enter the Strait of Hormuz or exit it", — he wrote.

He also reproached Tehran for failing to fulfill the promise to open the strait and called it "global blackmail".
