Execution of prisoners during the «Easter truce»: Lubinets appeals to the UN and the Red Cross

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine’s Human Rights Commissioner Dmytro Lubinets stated on Sunday, April 12, that he will appeal to the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and UN regarding the shooting by Russians of four Ukrainian prisoners of war and an evacuation group during the "Easter truce".

Analysts of the DeepState project on Saturday, April 11, reported, that around 17:30 Russians with FPV drones killed a group of wounded Ukrainian military personnel.

Later, another video came to the project, in which Russians shot four Ukrainian prisoners of war near Veterinarne in the Kharkiv region. On Sunday, this information was confirmed by the 14th Army Corps of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

"According to available information, the enemy carried out an assault on Ukrainian positions, as a result of which four fighters from one of the mechanized brigades were captured. Instead of complying with the norms of international humanitarian law, Russian terrorists shot the unarmed warriors on the spot", - it says in the post.

Lubinets: This is a cynical violation of international law

"This is a gross and cynical violation of the norms of international humanitarian law, including the Geneva Conventions. I am immediately sending letters to the ICRC and UN regarding these crimes: the world must know that Russia systematically violates all possible rules of war and has turned terror into its tactic", - wrote Lubinets in Telegram.

He reminded that as of today, almost 227 thousand crimes of aggression and war crimes of the Russian Federation have been recorded. "And how many more such crimes remain without witnesses, under rubble, in mass graves or in captivity - we don’t even know", - noted the ombudsman.
