«No port will be safe»: Iran called US actions piracy and is preparing a blockade of the Persian Gulf

Iran characterized the US actions as «piracy» and warned of possible corresponding steps in the Persian Gulf.

In Iran, they strongly condemned the US statements about a potential blockade of sea routes near the Strait of Hormuz. Ebrahim Zolfaghari, representative of the «Khatam al-Anbiya» armed forces headquarters, emphasized that Tehran views such measures as an «act of piracy».

According to Zolfaghari, if Iranian ports in the Persian and Gulf of Oman are threatened, then «not a single port» in the region will remain safe. He noted that Iran will strengthen surveillance over the strategic Strait of Hormuz and implement a permanent system for monitoring maritime traffic.
