Fictitious divorce or attempt to hide assets? Ex-prosecutor Stepanchenko and Inna Kravets divorced amid a corruption scandal
The Leninsky District Court of Zaporizhzhya dissolved the marriage between Andriy Stepanchenko and Inna Kravets. Interestingly, both — a former prosecutor and a now former female prosecutor.
Andriy Stepanchenko is a key figure in the scheme involving the sale of meters for the Ukraine Decarbonization Fund.
Judge Oleksandr Hnatyuk issued a decision on March 3, 2025, in case No. 334/28/25.
The marriage was registered on February 4, 2012, at the Zaporizhzhya City Department of State Registration of Civil Status Acts (record No. 27).
The couple has a common child. At the time of the case consideration, the actual marital relations between the parties had ceased, they did not maintain a joint household, and there are no disputes regarding property. The plaintiff requested that the case be considered without his participation. The defendant also did not appear in court, but submitted an application for consideration in her absence and fully acknowledged the plaintiff’s claims.
The court found that the continuation of joint life of the spouses and the preservation of the marriage contradicts the interests of one of the parties, therefore the claim is satisfied. The marriage is dissolved.
It can be assumed that this is a standard scheme to evade declaration, as well as possibly obtaining a deferment from mobilization to the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the father’s custody of the child.
Prosecutor Kravets may even now be cohabiting with Stepanchenko. This should be checked within the framework of the NACP investigation.
