Only a third reaches the front: "Come Back Alive" analyst revealed the critical gap between mobilization and combat positions
In Ukraine, approximately 30 thousand people are mobilized every month, but only a third of them reach combat positions.
This was reported by Anton Muraveynyk, an analyst from the “Come Back Alive” foundation.
According to him, about 8–9 thousand people arrive at the front line, while the rest “become ballast for the Armed Forces”. The state spends approximately 100 billion hryvnias annually on their maintenance.
He emphasized that many people who should not have been drafted are sent to training centers: some have the right to deferment, others are undergoing treatment instead of training. However, they join the brigades with the status of “fully fit”.
As a result, repeated medical commissions recognize from 15% to 50% of such servicemen as “limitedly fit”. Then they either continue treatment or are transferred to rear positions.
As a result, the number on combat positions decreases, while it grows in rear units. According to the analyst’s estimate, in a brigade of 2.5–3 thousand people, only about 50 fighters may be directly on the line of combat contact.
