Kyiv official Olha Drozdova received 7 years of imprisonment: however, she herself is still in Turkey
In Kyiv, a verdict has been issued in a resonant case regarding the purchase of vegetable slicers, kitchen combines, and frying pans for shelters in the Dniprovsky district. This case has been dragging on since 2023, when an RSA official responsible for procurement decided to equip local shelters. She was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment, but to arrest the woman, she will first have to be extradited from abroad.
About this writes Informator.
The Kyiv Prosecutor’s Office reported on the verdict in the resonant case . According to the investigation, in 2023, Olha Drozdova, an official from the Dniprovska RSA, was responsible for procurement for the district’s shelters. Law enforcement established that during the purchase of vegetable slicers, the overpayment reached more than 460 thousand UAH, for which the court sentenced her to 5 years of imprisonment.
In addition, during the purchase of chairs for shelters in schools of the Dniprovskyi district, they overpaid almost 1.3 million UAH. For this episode, she was sentenced to 7 years of imprisonment with confiscation of property — this is the final verdict. The official is also prohibited from holding positions related to organizational and administrative and administrative-economic functions for three years.

Currently, Ms. Drozdova is living a better life — in 2025, she ended up in Turkey, but could have left its borders. Photo from the court hearing and the official’s Instagram
However, to find and arrest Ms. Drozdova, Ukrainian justice will have to make efforts. Media back in the fall of 2025 wrote that Ms. Drozdova did not appear at the hearing in the Dniprovsky District Court on September 16, 2025, and fled to Turkey allegedly "for treatment." She provided the court with a lease agreement for housing in Antalya for a year and asked to hold the hearing with her participation via video link.
It is worth noting that, apart from the vegetable slicer case, Drozdova is also suspected of aiding in the misappropriation of budget funds during the purchase of generators for shelters in educational institutions. She left for Turkey a day before the scheduled hearing on selecting a pre-trial restraint in this case. As early as August 26, 2025, the court ruled to put her on the wanted list and granted permission for detention for the purpose of bringing her to court to select a pre-trial restraint in the form of detention.
Interestingly, according to educational activist and external expert of the Ministry of Education Oleksiy Ksenich, the Prosecutor General’s Office has already begun preparing documents for the extradition of Ms. Drozdova to Ukraine. Therefore, the official may soon end up behind bars in the first case (about vegetable slicers) — her sentence is one of the few where the court imposed a real prison term for the misappropriation of budget funds.
