For the first time in 18 years: King of Sweden Carl XVI Gustaf has arrived in Ukraine

Sweden’s King Carl XVI Gustaf has arrived in Ukraine for the first time in 18 years on a visit.

In Lviv, the monarch has already met with President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

This is the first trip of Sweden’s King to Ukraine since the start of the full-scale war. A delegation led by Sweden’s Foreign Minister arrived together with the 80-year-old monarch.

Carl XVI Gustaf last visited Ukraine in 2008 together with Queen Silvia.
