New threat: expert estimated the number of fraudulent “offices” in Ukraine at 10 thousand

More than a thousand fraudulent call centers are operating in Kyiv, and across Ukraine their number may exceed 10,000, reported lawyer and private detective Andriy Halych. He predicts that in the near future, these scammers will begin actively deceiving Ukrainians themselves.

According to Halych’s assessment, many no longer consider «offices» a fraudulent business, but perceive it as ordinary work. Especially if it involves scamming money from RF citizens.

«This is a real disaster for our society. These people have already changed; they will no longer be able to work in ordinary positions», noted Halych.

According to his data, until 2024, most «call centers» worked for the RF. However, Russia is actively developing protection against scammers, and now, according to Halych’s estimates, it is one of the most advanced in the world.

At the same time, in Ukraine, the anti-scam system is much less developed than in the RF. In particular, caller ID spoofing is still not recognized, when a call comes allegedly from a familiar number or a bank.

In addition, to «rip off» Ukrainians, they may involve residents of occupied territories who speak Ukrainian.
