People’s Deputy from "European Solidarity" Volodymyr Aryev commented on the verdict of the Obolonsky District Court of Kyiv, recently issued regarding the traffic accident involving his daughter Yaryna. Recall, she was sentenced to a suspended term for an accident almost four years old — in 2022, she hit a woman on Stepan Bandera Avenue. The deputy states: the incident occurred during a blackout, and the prosecutors’ accusations of allegedly having drugs in his daughter’s blood — this is part of the political struggle.

According to the MP, his daughter was involved in a traffic accident in November 2022 during a blackout. She was driving without exceeding the speed limit, immediately called the police and ambulance, and also provided first aid to the victim — she knew how to do it because she served in the 206th Territorial Defence battalion. The victim received medical assistance in the hospital, and later — full compensation, which is fixed by an agreement. Aryev was especially pleased that the court rejected the prosecution’s argument regarding the alleged presence of a drug in his daughter’s blood.

"Six months after the accident, the prosecution accused my daughter of ’narcotic intoxication’ during the crash. All media... presented it as a fact. Yaryna resigned her Kyiv Council mandate to defend the truth in court without status. And it turned out: there were no drugs during the accident," — wrote Aryev.

The MP emphasized: one toxicological examination and the conclusions of three more experts confirmed — the substance that the prosecution is trying to prove is not a "drug" at all (not psychoactive). Yaryna Aryeva’s reactions during the examination do not indicate drug use. All witnesses, including the policeman who processed the accident, did not notice signs of intoxication.

"Moreover, the doctor who told the media that Yaryna ’confessed’ to using refused to repeat it under oath in court! That’s why the court concluded — there was no narcotic intoxication," — he adds.

In the prosecution’s intention to appeal the verdict regarding the suspended term for Aryeva, her father sees a political motive. He says: the worst thing is when children are involved in political struggle.

"The prosecution plans an appeal. I don’t know how to refute the arguments of experts and witnesses. We will prove the truth to the end. And if someone thinks that this will stop me in the fight against the crimes of the authorities, they are deeply mistaken. This bullying of the family I will also remember. I will remember it well," — summed up the MP.
