A criminal case has been opened regarding the police officers who fled from the shooter who killed five people.

General Prosecutor Kravchenko reported this. According to him, the law enforcement officers are suspected under Part 3 of Article 367 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (Official negligence that led to grave consequences). A pre-trial investigation is being conducted.

"All actions of law enforcement officers at the moment of critical threat to citizens’ lives, including the incident of leaving an underage child without assistance and the delay in neutralizing the attacker, will receive an appropriate legal assessment", — emphasized the Prosecutor General.

In addition, he refuted reports of the death of the mother of a 12-year-old boy during the terrorist attack. According to the prosecutor, his sister died, and the mother is currently in the hospital.
