Zelenskyy: Easing of US sanctions against Russian oil could bring Russia about $10 billion
From the easing of US sanctions against Russian oil, Moscow could receive about $10 billion, which will go towards continuing the war against Ukraine.
About this, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reported on social media on Sunday, April 19.
According to his words, as of now, there are over 110 tankers of Russia’s shadow fleet at sea, carrying more than 12 million tons of Russian oil.
Zelenskyy emphasized that it is these volumes that Russia can sell again without consequences thanks to the easing of sanctions from Washington.
«Every dollar for oil from Russia is money for war», – stated the head of state, adding that this resource is directly converted into new strikes on Ukraine.
At the same time, the Ukrainian leader noted that Russian tankers should be stopped, rather than allowed to deliver oil to international ports.
Meanwhile, according to the president, just this week, Russian troops used almost 2,360 strike drones, over 1,320 guided aviation bombs, and 60 missiles against Ukraine.
«Continuing to ease sanctions against Russia does not correspond to the real situation in the war and diplomacy and fuels the illusion of the Russian leadership that the war can be continued», – emphasized Zelenskyy.
