Court in Cherkasy region suspends consideration of case against criminal authority «Kaban» due to his service in Armed Forces of Ukraine

The Mankivskyi District Court of Cherkasy region separated into a separate proceeding and suspended the consideration of the case on charges of participation in a criminal gathering held within the walls of the State Institution "Starobabanivska Correctional Colony No. 92" (Part 1 of Article 255-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) regarding a 35-year-old resident of Uman, criminal authority Oleksandr Lutsenko nicknamed "Kaban".

Corresponding verdict on April 6, 2026, was issued by judge Viktor Marenyuk, as reported by Detective-Info.

From its text it follows: the basis for the decision was the application of the provisions of Art. 335 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine, since from January 1 of the current year "Kaban" has been serving in the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Previously, Detective-Info reported: on February 23, 2024, by agreement with the head of the correctional colony Valentyn Chornopyskyi, a respected "delegation" led by Cherkasy polozhenets Ihor Sushkov nicknamed "Susha" visited the facility. Among the dignitaries accompanying him at that time, law enforcement identified trusted persons of the regional overseer - authoritative Mykhailo Musatov ("Musat"/"Kolyma"), Oleksandr Aleksyeyev ("Ryba"), and Oleksandr Lutsenko ("Kaban").

In November 2024, as previously reported by Detective-Info, the participants of the "gathering" on both sides of the barbed wire were served with suspicions. By court decision, "Kaban" was placed in Lukianivka Pre-Trial Detention Center, where he spent the next four months until early March 2025, when he was released on bail in the amount of 242,200 UAH.

It should be noted that Lutsenko’s involvement in the criminal gathering on the territory of the Starobabanivka Colony is not the only episode of charges against the dignitary currently under consideration by the courts of Cherkasy region. After the start of the full-scale military invasion of the Russian Federation army into Ukraine, Oleksandr came under the scrutiny of regional law enforcement following an incident where, together with "Susha’s" trusted associate Mykhailo Musatov, he attempted in an unconventional manner to collect a debt from the driver of the agricultural firm "Spart-Agro".

On May 22, 2022, "Musat" along with "Kaban" intercepted the company owner Spartak Nesterchuk at a gas station on the 521st km of the "Stryi-Ternopil-Kropyvnytskyi-Znamyanka" highway. As a result of the "informal negotiations" regarding the salary issue, the agribusinessman was short 10,000 USD and 30,000 UAH, and in addition, Lutsenko and Musatov seized his Mercedes-Benz S550 vehicle.

The authorities from the orbit of the Cherkasy polozhenets were declared wanted: their whereabouts were established only in August 2022. By court decisions, the dignitaries were assigned pre-trial restraints in the form of arrest with the possibility of release on bail, which were promptly paid. In the fall of 2022, the indictment regarding the exploits of "Musat" and "Kaban" was sent to the Uman City-District Court of Justice, where the case consideration continues to this day.
