Svyrydenko: IMF understands the VAT issue for sole proprietors

Prime Minister Svyrydenko stated that the IMF «with understanding» treated the delicacy of the issue regarding the introduction of VAT for sole proprietors.

«This is a delicate topic both for society and for parliament. We received support from partners who recognized that this is indeed a sensitive issue and an ineffective idea», – she stated after summarizing the spring negotiations in Washington.

According to her, during consultations with the IMF and European partners, alternative ways to replenish the budget for 2027 were discussed.

However, the prime minister did not specify whether the Fund withdrew its demand to introduce VAT for individual entrepreneurs.
