Night attack by the RF: Air defence forces shot down 113 targets, the enemy hit 18 locations

On the night leading up to April 20, Russia carried out a new air attack on Ukraine: the enemy used 142 air attack assets. Air defence forces neutralized 113 targets.

Hits were recorded in a number of locations. Details were reported by the Air Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Course of the attack

In the early morning of April 20, the enemy employed 142 strike UAVs of the "Shahed" type (including jet-powered ones), "Gerbera", "Italmass" and drones of other types from the directions: Kursk, Bryansk, Orel, Millerovo, Shatalove, Primorsko-Akhtarsk (RF), temporarily occupied Donetsk, Gvardeyskoye (Crimea).

About 100 enemy drones in Ukrainian airspace were "Shaheds".

The response to the air attack was provided by aviation, anti-aircraft missile troops, EW and drone system units, mobile fire groups of Ukraine’s Defence Forces.

According to preliminary data, as of 08:00, air defence downed/suppressed 113 enemy UAVs of various types in the north, south, and east of the country.

Hits by 28 strike UAVs were recorded in 18 locations, as well as debris falls from downed ones in 6 locations.

"The attack continues, several enemy UAVs in the airspace. Follow safety rules!" – noted the Air Forces.

Consequences of enemy strikes

In the Nikopol district of Dnipropetrovsk oblast, Nikopol, Pokrovska, Chervonohryhorivska, Marganetska, and Myrivska communities suffered from enemy strikes.

"Enterprises, infrastructure, private houses, a five-story building, an outbuilding were damaged. Five people were injured. Three of them were hospitalized, a 74-year-old man is in serious condition", – said the head of Dnipropetrovsk RMA Oleksandr Hanza.

In the Synelnykivskyi district, Shakhterska, Vasylkivska, and Pokrovska communities came under strike. A private house and an outbuilding burned down. Infrastructure was damaged.

In Kryvyi Rih, the enemy attacked an infrastructure facility.

"Rescue and recovery operation is ongoing. Multi-story residential buildings are damaged. Inspections are being conducted. Currently, no casualties", – wrote at 05:08 the head of the city’s Defence Council Oleksandr Vilkul.

However, later it became known about an injured 39-year-old man. He will be treated on an outpatient basis.

In the Kyiv region, under a drone attack by RF troops, Brovary district came under fire. According to the head of Kyiv RMA Mykola Kalashnyk, a man born in 1974 was injured and hospitalized. Two private houses were also damaged.

Several hits by occupiers’ combat drones were also recorded in Kharkiv: at least two residents were injured there.
