Father of suspect in Kyiv shooting turns out to be former Russian serviceman, — CPD
The father of Dmytro Vasylchenkov, who carried out a terrorist attack in Kyiv on April 18, was a citizen of the Russian Federation and worked at the Ryazan Airborne Forces Command School (Airborne Troops of the Russian Armed Forces). In addition, Vasyl Vasylchenkov was a retired colonel.
The man headed a scientific school and was a professor at the Department of Automotive Engineering. This was reported by the Center for Countering Corruption.
"This probably explains why the emails of the younger Vasylchenkov contain the abbreviation ’ADF,’ — noted in the publication.
At the same time, it should be noted that the killer’s initials — Vasylchenkov Dmytro — also coincide with the letters ADF, so his emails might not be related to the Russian Armed Forces.
The Center for Countering Corruption also reminded that in his posts, Vasylchenkov denied the existence of Ukraine, calling it ’so-called Ukraine’ in the posts, and criticized the Russian Igor Girkin for not destroying the city of Bakhmut in 2014.

"All these facts indicate that the SSU and the police should have taken an interest in Vasylchenkov long before the tragedy. Instead, the rear-line SSU, for example, threw huge resources into fighting NABU detectives. And the police calmly re-registered Vasylchenkov’s weapons in 2025," — emphasized the Center for Countering Corruption.
