EU countries are cutting funding for the Czech initiative to supply ammunition to Ukraine
EU countries have significantly reduced funding for the Czech ammunition supply program to Ukraine.
iRozhlas reports this, citing data from the Kiel Institute for the World Economy.
The new Babis government, after winning the elections, stated its intention to continue the initiative, but without allocating its own funds.
Participating countries, including leaders such as Germany, the Netherlands, and Denmark, have recently also reduced their contributions.
Experts note that the project is short of billions of euros — the budget provides funding for less than half of the supplies.
In their opinion, there are several reasons: economic factors, consequences of the conflict in the Middle East, and reluctance to invest funds through the Czech Republic, which itself does not participate financially in its initiative, although it receives income from taxes on the defense industry.
