Sea transshipment and falsification: Embassy of Ukraine reports to Israeli police on import of stolen grain

The Embassy of Ukraine in Israel has informed Israeli law enforcement about suspicions of importing wheat illegally exported from temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. Israeli firms and a complex scheme of sea transshipment of grain are involved in the case.

The Embassy of Ukraine in Tel Aviv has submitted official statements to the Israeli police and financial regulators regarding Zenziper and Dizengoff Trading companies, reports United24. They are accused of importing wheat that the occupiers could have stolen from Ukrainian territories under their control.

The appeal was sent to the Lahav 433 unit for combating crime, as well as to the Israel Money Laundering and Terror Financing Prohibition Unit. The Ukrainian side points to possible cases of document forgery, fraud, and falsification of grain origin data.

According to diplomats, Dizengoff Trading received about 43.8 thousand tons of grain, of which approximately 16.5 thousand tons may originate from occupied areas of Ukraine.

According to the embassy’s data, the grain was loaded in the ports of Berdyansk and Sevastopol, after which it was transported by intermediate vessels and transshipped onto a large bulk carrier near the Caucasus.

Ukraine also requests that Israeli authorities conduct a laboratory examination of the grain to determine its origin based on soil markers typical for eastern regions of Ukraine. In addition, diplomats demand the confiscation of ship documents to trace the entire supply chain.

After the accusations, Dizengoff Trading announced the suspension of new purchases of Russian wheat, denying any violations of international norms. At the same time, Zenziper refused to unload another suspicious vessel, which later left the Israeli coast.
