Fivefold discount for grenade launchers: Judge Zareva released criminal authority "Maskal" from custody
Judge Zareva «sells» cases: She released criminal authority «Maskal» from pre-trial detention center in the case involving a grenade launcher, submachine guns, and grenades.
An event that was supposed to end with strict arrest for a person with a criminal trail from the 90s is once again acquiring features of the classic «proper court» scheme in Transcarpathia.
On April 24, investigating judge of the Uzhhorod City-District Court Nataliya Zareva reduced the bail for Andriy Suvorin, known as «Maskal» — ex-assistant to MP Mykhailo Lanya and a figure who has been associated for years in the region with a criminal group.
This is the same Suvorin, detained by law enforcement after a special operation by the State Border Guard Service and police. During searches, they confiscated from him not a «hunting rifle for the village», but a real military arsenal: an anti-tank grenade launcher with rounds, combat grenades, AK-74 and AKMS automatics, Shpagin submachine gun, rifles with optics, pistols, silencers, and over 1300 rounds of various calibers.
Initially, the court set bail at 10 million hryvnias. Later, Judge Nataliya Zareva reduced it to 2 million. After that, «Maskal» left PDC.
In law enforcement circles, Nataliya Zareva’s surname has long been mentioned in the context of decisions that mysteriously simplify the fate of suspects in high-profile cases. The story with «Maskal» only fuels rumors that in Transcarpathia some judicial verdicts are made not in favor of society and security, but in favor of those who possess the right connections and resources.
