Frontline situation: 51 combat engagements recorded, of which 30 - on the Pokrovsk and Huliaipole directions

Since the beginning of the day, the aggressor has carried out 51 attacks on the front.

This is is reported in the summary of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on the situation at the front as of 16:00 on May 9.

Russian Federation strikes on Ukraine

The enemy is shelling border areas. Today in the Sumy region, the areas of the settlements were affected: Rohizne, Volfyne, Koreniok, Atynske, Ulanove, and Kucherivka.

Situation in the north

In the North-Eastern and Kursk directions, the enemy conducted 10 shellings of populated areas and our troops’ positions. Two assault actions by the enemy were recorded.

Situation in Kharkiv region

In the South-Eastern direction, the enemy seven times tried to improve its positions near Prilipka, Izbitske, Staritsa, Ternova, Petro-Ivanivka, Synelnykove. Two of them are still ongoing.

In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy did not conduct active offensive actions.

Fighting in the east

In the Lyman direction, the enemy attacked four times towards Lyman, Zarichne, Yampol, and Ozernе.

According to the General Staff, in the Sloviansk direction, the enemy did not conduct active offensive actions.

In the Kramatorsk direction, the enemy attacked once near Tykhonivka.

In the Kostyantynivka direction, the occupiers carried out seven attacks near Kostiantynivka, Pleshchivka, Illinivka, and Rusyi Yar.

In the Pokrovsk direction, since the beginning of the day, the occupiers 17 times tried to dislodge our warriors from positions near Bilotske, Nikanorivka, Dorozhnianske, Rodynske, Novooleksandrivka, Udachne, Vasylivka, Molodetske, and Novomykolaivka. Two of these attacks are ongoing.

In the Orikhiv direction, the enemy did not conduct assault actions.

Combat actions in the south

In the Huliaipole direction, there were 13 attacks on the positions of our defenders near Novе Zaporizhzhia, Rybne, Tsvitkovе, Zaliznychne, Vozdvyzhivka, Sviatopetrivka, Huliaipole, and Charivne.

In the Orikhiv and Dniprovskyi directions, no enemy assault actions were recorded.

There are no significant changes in the situation in other directions yet. No enemy advances are observed.
