Man in a coma after encounter with the TRC in Dnipro: Ombudsman Lubinets calls for an investigation

In Dnipro, a man fell into a coma after being beaten by TRC employees. This was reported by Ukraine’s Ombudsman Lubinets.

According to him, the victim’s wife contacted him. She claims that her husband was beaten by people in balaclavas and uniform clothing, whom she considers TRC representatives.
The victim sustained a traumatic brain injury and is in critical condition.

The Ombudsman condemned the use of balaclavas during mobilization activities. «People have the right to know who exactly is stopping, detaining, or using force against them. If faces are hidden, it’s impossible to identify those who may violate human rights», — he emphasized.

Lubinets also noted that the official version of the incident is that the man «fell on his own and hit his head». A pre-trial investigation has been initiated into the incident.
