The "porno offices" case: court arrests four top police officers and driver of deputy interior minister on multi-million bails

According to the Office of the Prosecutor General, the court has arrested five suspects in the corrupt patronage of a network of “porno offices.”

The investigation believes that police officers and persons connected with them may have received illegal remuneration for ensuring the uninterrupted operation of premises in which pornographic content was illegally produced and distributed.

The court imposed pre-trial detention with the right to post bail as a preventive measure for all five defendants.

In particular:
– the head of the Main Department of the National Police in Ivano-Frankivsk Region – UAH 7 million bail;
– the deputy head of the Main Department of the National Police in Ivano-Frankivsk Region – UAH 5 million bail;
– the first deputy head of the Investigative Department of the Main Department of the National Police in Ternopil Region – UAH 5 million bail;
– the deputy head of the Main Department of the National Police in Zhytomyr Region – UAH 1 million 164 thousand bail;
– the driver of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine – UAH 8 million bail.

During the searches, law-enforcement officers seized luxury cars, cash and other property. The total amount of seized money amounted to UAH 22.6 million.
