Personnel purges in the National Police: leadership of the Khmelnytskyi headquarters dismissed over corruption scheme involving "porno offices"
Uniformed Syndicate: Khmelnytskyi Police Chief Dismissed Over “Porno Offices” Scandal, While Top Officials from Other Regions Taken into Custody.
The head of the Main Department of the National Police in Khmelnytskyi Region, Ruslan Herasymchuk, has been dismissed from his post. At the same time, the head of the Khmelnytskyi District Police Department, Vasyl Ptashchuk, submitted a letter of resignation of his own accord.
It was previously reported that the court imposed preventive measures on five individuals involved in a corruption scheme connected with covering up the activities of a network of so-called porno offices.
The court ordered all five suspects to be held in pre-trial detention with the possibility of posting bail.
Specifically:
- Head of the Main Police Department in Ivano-Frankivsk Region Bezpalko — bail of UAH 7 million;
- Deputy Head of the Main Police Department in Ivano-Frankivsk Region Yatsyuk — bail of UAH 5 million;
- First Deputy Head of the Main Police Department in Ternopil Region Tkachyk — bail of UAH 5 million;
- Deputy Head of the Main Police Department in Zhytomyr Region Hulevatyi — bail of UAH 1.16 million;
- Driver of the Deputy Minister of Internal Affairs Vorob — bail of UAH 8 million.
