Despite the principled position of the prosecutor’s office and the irrefutable evidence base collected by law enforcement, the main figure and leader of the group Serhiy Boyko still does not have a deserved sentence, and his accomplices are walking free. At the same time, the state continues to spend money on the trial and the maintenance of Boyko himself in an Odessa colony, while the victims cannot receive compensation.

Criminal proceeding No. 12023161180000646 in the high-profile case, which StopCor has already repeatedly reported on, was entered into the Unified Register of Pre-Trial Investigations on July 2, 2023. However, it seems that due to procedural gaps, the domestic criminal justice system can stall for years even when all evidence has been collected, the accused have been identified, and the public danger of the defendants raises no doubts.
