HACC extends pre-trial detention of former Energy Minister Halushchenko but reduces bail to UAH 150 million.

The investigating judge of the High Anti-Corruption Court partially granted the NABU detective’s motion and extended Herman Halushchenko’s pre-trial detention for another two months.

At the same time, the judge decided to reduce the amount of the alternative bail from UAH 200 million to UAH 150 million.

Halushchenko is suspected of involvement in a large-scale corruption scheme in the energy sector, money laundering, and participation in a criminal organization.

NABU and SAPO exposed the former minister under Operation “Midas” and notified him of suspicion on 16 February.
