New IMF requirement: Ukraine must prepare a plan for the phased increase in utility tariffs

The IMF insists that Ukraine prepare a plan for the gradual increase of utility tariffs, according to the Fund’s statement.

«Develop a roadmap for the gradual liberalization of the energy market and the abandonment of the current system of underpriced tariffs, which undermines the financial condition of state-owned companies», — the IMF notes.

According to sources, today Ukraine and the IMF have reached an agreement on the allocation of a tranche in the amount of $690 million. The issue of introducing a tax on foreign parcels worth more than 45 euros has been postponed until July.
