In the Kyiv region, a scheme for supplying drugs to the pre-trial detention center was uncovered: the organizer managed the network from behind bars.

Law enforcement officers stopped the activities of a group of seven people involved in the distribution of methadone in Kyiv, the Kyiv region, and directly in the Kyiv pre-trial detention center. According to the investigation, the scheme was created by an inmate who managed accomplices both inside the detention facility and outside. The drugs were hidden in food products and sent by mail to the detention centre, where they were sold.

Every month, the group members sold between 300 and 800 methadone tablets, and the price of one dose on the black market reached 600 hryvnias. During 15 searches, law enforcement officers seized drugs, mobile phones, bank cards, documents, computer equipment, and cash.
