The Armed Forces of Ukraine refuted rumors about a ban on military personnel communicating with the media
In the Armed Forces of Ukraine, it was officially stated that information about the alleged introduction of a ban on public speeches, interviews, or statements for military personnel does not correspond to reality. Communication activities in the army continue to be carried out in accordance with current regulatory legal acts.
This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
Statements about the existence of administrative documents from the leadership of the Armed Forces of Ukraine that restrict the right of military personnel to public speeches are unfounded. The activities of the Armed Forces in the field of interaction with the media are regulated by certain regulatory acts, in particular by Order of the Ministry of Defence No. 763 dated December 20, 2023, and Order of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine No. 73 dated March 3, 2022.
Any clarifications or instructions sent to the troops are aimed solely at ensuring proper compliance with the requirements of these orders. Recent directives concerned exclusively the rules for disseminating information about the operational situation in combat areas. These measures are being implemented to ensure information security and the security of troop operations, but they do not contain any bans on interviews or public communication as such.
