Trehubov: The Lyman direction became the main target of the Russian army’s offensive
Russian troops continue to concentrate their main offensive efforts on the Lyman direction, which they view as a bridgehead for further advance towards the Slovyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration. At the same time, according to Ukrainian military personnel, it is on this section of the front that the occupiers are suffering record losses.
This was reported in a telethon by Viktor Trehubov, head of the communications department of the Joint Forces Grouping of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
According to him, the Lyman direction remains one of the main priorities for the Russian command.
«The Lyman direction is currently the biggest point of effort from the Russian side. It remains fundamentally important to them, they really want to capture it in order to further develop the offensive through it directly on the Slovyansk-Kramatorsk agglomeration, so it is the most important for them», — noted Trehubov.
He said that on this section of the front, Russian troops are using the tactics of small assault groups, constantly trying to infiltrate and create additional zones of control.
According to Trehubov, the Russian troop grouping in the Lyman direction does not feel a shortage of resources, including personnel, so it is exerting constant pressure along almost the entire front line.
At the same time, as the Armed Forces representative emphasized, such actions are accompanied by significant losses of the Russian army.
«The enemy is suffering really record losses. This is not a figure of speech. For example, there were 270 losses per day this week in the operational zone, most of them “two-hundreds.” This is a very high figure, one we have not seen at all», — Trehubov stated.
