The court took restaurateur Yevhen Heselev into custody in the case of drug trafficking and a drug den

In the Khmelnytskyi region, law enforcement officers detained 54-year-old native of Kamianets-Podilskyi and businessman Yevhen Heselev. He was notified of suspicion of drug trafficking and organizing a place for the illegal use of narcotic substances.

On July 16, 2026, in Khmelnytskyi region, law enforcement officers carried out the detention and notified 54-year-old native of Kamianets-Podilskyi, influential businessman Yevhen Heselev, of suspicion of drug trafficking (Part 1, Article 307 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) and organizing a drug den (Part 1, Article 317 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine). It follows from them that for more than 10 months, local security forces conducted covert investigative (search) actions against the previously convicted influential figure and managed to “drill into” the premises of the “Rebernia na Troitskii” restaurant, whose actual owner is considered to be Yevhen. The relevant measures allowed the “law enforcement” to record 8 cases when in a specially equipped separate room of the establishment, Heselev and his guests “jointly used a powdery substance by inhaling through the nose”.

In the interpretation of the investigation, this attribute, which complemented card tournaments in the entertainment establishment, was cocaine. Packages with this drug were seized both in one of the rooms of the “Rebernia” and directly during the “packing” of Yevhen Heselev at dawn on July 16.

On July 22, the police of Khmelnytskyi region published fragments of the covert investigative actions recorded during the “bohemian parties of cocaine users” and reported that the “influential restaurateur” had been assigned a preventive measure in the form of unconditional detention.

At the same time, the court materials contain somewhat different information regarding the “preventive measure” assigned to Heselev. According to them, on July 17, 2026, investigating judge Svitlana Dankova placed Yevhen in custody with the possibility of release on bail in the amount of UAH 266,200.

In March of this year, Khmelnytskyi security forces had already detained the influential figure from Kamianets-Podilskyi with charges of extortion. According to the interpretation of the investigation, Yevhen Heselev, together with a member of the so-called “Most” gang — Oleksandr Kyrychko, as well as the previously convicted head of the Khmelnytskyi branch of the party “Ukraine is Us” Valeriy Kanchalaba, posed as employees of the Security Service of Ukraine and “terrorized” the head of the expert team of the KNP “Multiprofile Central District Hospital” located in the village of Muksha, Kamianets-Podilskyi district. From the court materials it is known: all three influential figures were released already in the first ten days of April, having paid the amounts of bail determined by the court of appeal in the total amount of UAH 998,400.
