In the Balzi Rossi restaurant in Moscow, where the explosion occurred, the commander-in-chief of the Russian Aerospace Forces, Alexander Chaiko, was celebrating his birthday.

According to publications, in 2022 Chaiko commanded the “East” group of troops. Ukrainian authorities and international human rights organizations linked the units operating under his command with war crimes, including mass killings, torture of civilians, and destruction in Bucha.

At the same time, information about Alexander Chaiko’s presence in the restaurant during the explosion currently has no official confirmation.
