Foreign currency cash and luxury car: assets of doctor and MP’s wife Alyona Akimova revealed

In the 2021 declaration of MP Oleksandr Akimov, obstetrician-gynecologist Alyona Akimova was listed as his wife.

Journalists found out that her salary at the Kyiv Perinatal Center for the year amounted to 280,672 UAH. At the same time, the following was declared for Akimova:

• $32 thousand in cash;
• €25 thousand in cash;
• 135 thousand UAH in cash;
• Mercedes-Benz CL550, valued at 690 thousand UAH.

Having assets or savings is not in itself a violation. However, against the backdrop of patient complaints about allegedly paid services, a logical question arises: from what income were these savings formed and were all private payments made officially?

There is one more detail. Akimova is the head and owner of the charitable foundation "Support for Mother and Child".

In 2024, the Kyiv Commercial Court ruled that the foundation had not paid 14,829.83 UAH in rent for a municipal premises. The registers also show three enforcement proceedings against the organization.

Support for mothers. Debts for the foundation. Currency cash for the doctor. An interesting picture, but still without a final diagnosis.

The investigators invite Akimova to publicly explain the origin of the declared funds, the foundation’s financial statements, and the mechanism of payment and taxation of her private medical services.
